Directions and Parking

Our location is unique because we are the closest Indianapolis B&B to the heart of Indy's downtown. We are located just under one mile from the Indiana Convention Center and can provide an opportunity to see a part of Indy (where the locals go) you might not see otherwise. Within walking distance are pubs, independent restaurants, shopping, art and theatre as well as live music, jazz and a bier garden at The Rathskeller.

PARKING

You may have asked "So what's up with the parking?"
We get this question a lot and some guests talk about it when they give us a review.  We have mixed commentaries......some guests have no problem with our parking, and some find it to be a challenge.

Parking is on the street or in a parking lot.  I'll explain:  The Inn sits at the corner of Walnut and East Street.  Walnut Street, a two way street, sits next to the Inn and is two blocks long.  You can park alongside the Inn on Walnut Street or in the next block of Walnut Street for free.  If that street is full, there is also free parking north of the Inn on East Street which is one way going south and 1 block in length.

If you don't want to park your car on the street, or there isn't a place open on either Walnut or East Street, we have an arrangement with the IPS School #2, on Walnut Street, to allow us to park in their parking lot.  That lot is about 1/2 block from the Inn. We will send you a parking pass for this lot if you choose to park there.  They never close their gate, and they ask us to park on the side of the lot next to the large green dumpster.

Unfortunately, the lot next to us is not our lot.  That lot is for the businesses that site next to the lot (a vet office and a hair salon).  Parking there may put your car in danger of being towed.

Also, we have a loading zone right in front of the Inn.  This loading zone is for you to be able to pull up, check out your room and get your luggage inside.  Then you can park your car if you haven't found a spot yet.  Depending on occupancy of guests with cars, it may be possible for you to park overnight in our loading zone.  This is something I am happy to talk with you about when you arrive to let you know if that is possible.  The loading zone is a cut out on East Street and has room for two vehicles.

I hope that helps you with parking your vehicles.  I am always happy to assist with parking when you arrive.  If I'm at the Inn, and we see a spot open, I'm known to go out and stand in the parking spot until you make it around the corner.  My neighbors all know what I'm doing so no worries there.  You can always reach me or our phone center at 317-610-5200.

If you like to walk, we are walkable to all of downtown including The Circle, Circle Center Mall, The Indiana Convention Center or the Indiana State House. If you want to take public transportation, the #12 bus stops right at our corner of Mass Ave and East Street. https://www.indygo.net . If you want to take a cab, you are about a 5-6 minute ride to most everywhere. We use Airport Taxi, 317-698-0441 (they will take you anywhere, not just the airport) or Indy Airport Taxi at 317-381-1111. There are also many Uber drivers in our neighborhood.  At the east corner of the Inn, at Walnut and Mass Ave, are the Pacers Bike Share bicycles that you can rent to get around town. This program is charged by the minute and bikes need to be docked every 30 minutes. https://www.pacersbikeshare.org. You can rent a bicycle for the entire day or even overnight at BGI at the historic City Market. https://www.bgindy.com. The city also has many electric scooters that you can pick up anywhere you see them and rent them for place to place transportation.
